Where my need for an Artsy space brought me

One thing every man dream of is to have his own home he can share with his family. Me, I only wanted space where I can be left alone and get creative. I need a place so tough it can stand all my insane behaviors. You know the usual me, drawing the walls with pen markers instead of paint, planting a tree inside an old shoe or making an old banga a rice dispenser. I am keen of challenging the typical use of any materials that seems to stand the test of time. You know like using drift wood to make chicken coop or turtle pond. Naaah.. I haven’t tried it yet, but I am always thinking and looking for new designs idea that would fuel my crazy passion.

In my pursuit I found myself in an exhibit in Glorietta 4 Makati titled “Art is Space”, it’s basically a showroom for Avida condominiums (you know one of Ayala Land’s developer) that showcases different artsy furniture pieces from Kubular (you know Team Manila? This is his baby, a furniture design firm).

Kubular’s furniture designs carry an industrial, Scandinavian feel—straightforward elements like wood and steel bent into cubes and grids to make furniture that is aesthetically and functionally-designed. Their credo is to create a design that is contemporary, flexible and sustainable, with each piece having the ability to add character to space. Basically, everything I need and want.

This exhibit will run until June 30, 2016, and most of the furniture is available for purchase. If only I am not saving for space where I can put this furniture, you’ll see me carrying one home.
