My take on Museum Cafe / Kabila's Ultimate Avocado Crush and Halo-Halo Special

#jotg

I remember that afternoon, that extreme heat from the sun starting to drain my drive and creative juices. I feel like I want to stay inside my bathroom, underwater, and care no more about the outside world. Good thing I was invited by my friend to try Museum Cafe's summer treats. It felt like heaven, like as if a ray of light suddenly appears in front of my eyes. I thought, a change of environment and a taste  of crushed ice would keep me going so I said yes.

Museum Cafe / Kabila is a gem of Greenbelt park. It deserves to line up along with the Ayala Museum because everything in its interiors is well done. I even thought it was part of the museum because of its design. But no, it just happens to look really artsy and nice. Indeed, a good place to chill in and dine. Check out my Vlog below:

Theys served us the Ultimate Avocado Crush and Halo-Halo. The Ultimate Avocado Crush was an immediate eye candy for me. It looks so refreshing and  tasty which indeed, it is. The pudding melts in my mouth to perfection. <I hope that sounds good. LOL> But no joke, it was the best pudding I've tasted so far. The Nata de coco is lusciously good to bite and everything about this Avocado Crush is what I need this summer. The strong flavor of Avocado mixed with milk and vanilla makes me want more. On the other hand, I was looking for more colors with their Halo-halo but nevertheless, it has the sensation I was looking for. It's not too sweet and the gulaman doesn't feel rubbery.

#jotg

I love how food brings back memories. And these two summer treats from Museum Cafe / Kabila just brought me back to my childhood days, where we used to make our own avocado shakes and halo-halo. It has this home made feel that completely makes you enjoy your stay.

Row Row Row Indoors at Saddle Row PH

Row Row Row Indoors at Saddle Row PH

I'm the kind of person who easily gets tired of routines. I feel like I am being boxed so I keep on looking for variety. I keep on telling myself that maybe this is the reason why I am not getting fit at all. My lazy and procrastinating attitude leads me to what I am today- Fat.

One sport that I always loved ever since I was a child is swimming and eventually anything that involves water. Unfortunately, I have no means of doing those things. <Procrastinating shit> So when I learned about Saddle Row PH, a place where you can do rowing indoors, I grabbed the opportunity to try it out.

#JOTG

Saddle Row is the Philippines first specialized indoor cycling and indoor rowing studio. The one I tried is located at the 2nd floor of Bonifacio Global City Serendra. I believe the offer for us bloggers is the cycling class, but I'm late so they just let me go with the rowing class instead. Yey!

#JOTG

I thought it'll be simply pulling the strings attached to the machine, but as usual, I'm wrong. Saddlerow offer tailor-fit 45-minute and 60-minute workouts that suit different individuals depending on their fitness level and background.

CYCLING CLASSES:

UNDERGROUND – And 5, 6, 7, 8! Listen to the music, pick up that beat and dance this class away! Head underground and have a blast with fun choreography sets to help you lose the weight and lose those two left feet. The best stress relief you'll have today!

RESISTANCE

Skinny jeans, firm stomach, tone arms. Who can resist? Welcome to our signature full body workout on the bike! Here you'll work with resistance bands throughout the cycling class to strengthen your arms, shoulders and core. A great couples workout so bring your partner or a friend and lose those inches together.

EXCHANGE

Attack the hills, cruise the coast, smash your next triathlon, drop that last 15 lbs. Exchange is pure cycling for the purist at heart. Here we geek out on the numbers so beginners and advanced riders alike can learn more about the science of cycling. Guy friendly with no dancing here!

ROWING CLASSES :

FINESSE

Power with grace. Welcome to Finesse, a rowing foundations class where you'll learn the technique and build total body strength at a steady, rhythmic pace. Beginner friendly but a solid workout to come back to over and over.

CREW

Our signature team rowing class! Here we row together as a collegiate boat crew, polo and khakis included. Kidding! You'll spend 90% of the class on the rower working through fun but challenging interval sets. The result- hands down one of best full body workouts in the city and your fastest ticket to a rower's body. Google image a rower's body so you know what we are talking about!

CIRCUIT

Our surf and turf workout that combines cardio on the rower with floor based strength and stamina sets. A staple among collegiate rowers to get in shape for the season. It's a little more advanced class than Finesse so start there if you're new.

Watch my vlog below:

I love how the instructors keep you on track by setting your goals. Rowing indoors is definitely more challenging than the usual gym routines as it fully works out your arms and legs so basically your whole body. <that is if I'm not mistaken>

the Mastermind Theatrical Escape Room experience

4/24/2016 Japhet 0 Comments

I feel like I'm starting to get addicted to escape rooms that I decided to try Mastermind with my friends. Mastermind is a theatrical escape room in Harrison Plaza Manila which was recently featured on Net 25's Tribe.

The game scenario goes like this, you'll be kidnap by Commander Skullhead and all you need to do is to survive and escape. But there's one twist that awaits every hostage as Commander Skullhead will be with you the whole time, in the same room, as you play his game.

Mastermind escape room is a sure game changer. Unlike the usual escape rooms, this one will not only test your intelligence and teamwork but also weave your moral fabric.

Go ahead and try it for yourself! Visit their facebook fan page:

Ang BULALO ni Jaytee's Filipino Cuisine in Tagaytay

4/23/2016 Japhet 0 Comments

After our trip in Dive and Trek Resort, we decided to have our dinner in Tagaytay. We are supposed to eat somewhere near the road but there's not enough parking space so we headed to One Destination where this restaurant is located. I believe it's the waitress convincing power that made us decide to finally eat here. The place is tidy enough compared to other bulalohan I've tried before. But their service is really slow. They only give us water when we requested for it. Walang alok-alok. We even notice some of their staff just standing there doing nothing.

After a long wait, our bulalo was finally served. The soup was fantastic. The beef flavor is savory and the meat was soft, but that's my perspective. My mom was not satisfied with the meat. According to her, it needs to be softer especially for elders. Aside from the service, what I don't like about their bulalo is the vegetables. It feels so rubbery making it uncomfortable to bite.

Dive and Trek Resort Bauan Batangas Experience

4/23/2016 Japhet 0 Comments

I just got back home from Pagbilao Quezon when my mom called me 4 in the morning. She wants us to join her and my titos bonding. There you go, I think this is what really being on-the-go means. But I enjoyed the trip really. Dive and Trek resort is new to me even if it has been in Bauan Batangas for long. Feeding some fish at the shore is amazing. I wonder if I push through with diving, I bet it is a different world down there. The food served during our lunch was genuinely delicious. I can't think of anything bad about this resort. Maybe I can only suggest to put on some signages for divers and those who'll go snorkelling to never step on some corals. Because I've seen some foreigners doing that. As people who appreciate the ocean, they should know.

Trying hard promodiser

4/19/2016 Japhet 0 Comments

I always wanted to be a promodiser for a day. As a practice, I did this. Hahahaha! I believe it is a very tough job especially nowadays that people are easily distracted. As a promodiser, you need to be someone who can deliver a message that catches attention instantly. That's one quality I am trying to learn so please don't get me wrong if you see me staring badly at some mall promodiser. I just love them. I love what they do and I am very proud of it.

Reading Habang Wala Pa Sila by Juan Miguel Severo

4/19/2016 Japhet 0 Comments

I like how reading makes us feel things we've never imagine especially if you're reading out loud. It gives us new meanings to certain emotions and we suddenly become a part of that world. This book by Juan Miguel Severo won't just tell you stories through poems but will make you the story. I tried reading it as a joke for this video so it would look funny but at the end, it eats me. I guess that's how powerful it is. Watch my video so you know.

Too harsh to read for summer | Kwebang lampas Pagbilao Quezon

4/15/2016 Japhet 0 Comments

#jotg

This is supposed to be a new episode of "Kabaro Mo". Unfortunately, all my videos from SJCAM5000+ was corrupted for no known reason. I tried my best to recover everything, but it's hopeless! So let's all have a moment of silence for my loss. Ok, thank you, back to regular programming, what is wrong with you human?!

ADHD Alert! Let me tell you something first.

Puting Buhangin/Kwebang lampas is somewhere in Pagbilao Quezon. It lis near the famous beach of Borawan and Bilaran Sand Bar. We went  there to celebrate my Kabaro's birthday and of course inhale the refreshing scent of summer. Originally, our plan is to stay in borawan, but according to our guide, the place is already full for people who wants to stay overnight and it would also be hard for as to swim during the day because there are many lurking jellyfish in the area. Since we're there to plunge and enjoy the water, we decided to take the alternative which is Kwebang Lampas. I've read blogs about kwebang lampas before and saw how beautiful it was on photos, but got really disappointed with what I've witnessed.

Before I burst into madness, let me first remind everyone that this post will never contain itineraries and instructions on how to get to the location, nor tricks and tips to make your travel easier. This post somehow hopes to change your views when traveling. Why? Because I am annoyed by the fact that we travel for the benefit of ourselves and care less about the impact we made with our traces being left behind. We enjoy the fruits of nature's labor, but never know how to give back.

The following are suggestions you may want to think about before saying "Sama ako" the next time you visit such place.

#JOTG
Nope! Hindi iyan evacuation area. Campsite yan ng Kwebang Lampas
Have a purpose. Do not travel for the sake of  traveling. Go to places and engage with the locals, learn their culture or maybe think of any ideas and things that you want to do with your fuck up life. This is the time that you disengage yourself from the norms and be with our nature. Be there with a purpose that is not only for yourself but for everyone. If you haven't found it yet, then travel to find your purpose damn it!

I believe that we travel to make ourselves better, to discover things that are new to us or to simply learn and get out of our comfort zone. That's why I can't bear to see and  understand those people camping with almost all their appliances, like as if the beach is where they are going to build their next home. Ok, I envy them because they have everything, kulang na lang refrigerator, but heck no! You're there to appreciate God's creation or atleast bond with your family and friends, not to fucking look for cell signals or bake a 3 layer cake! Kaya nga GET-OUT-OF-YOUR-COMFORT-ZONE eh hah? Besides, you may find your inner confidence by dealing with unexpected situations kaya utang na loob!

The beach is not a bar you can get drunk with and leave your bottles and cigarette butts anywhere when you're tipsy. As you camp out the/near shore, you better make sure you have a fucking bin to put your trash and carry it pag alis ninyo. If wala, keep your garbage inside your tent. The ocean is not a fucking janitor to clean up your residue! It is also not your bathroom where you can leave your pantyliner or shampoo sachet! Kuha mo?

There's no excuse sa kababuyang iyan and hindi ko talaga matanggap na many still do it.

The beach is full of hot people with gorgeous mouthwatering body structure. Thus, you must enjoy the view. Wala lang gusto ko lang sabihin. LOL!

This one is grave! Hindi ko alam kung pinag-kaitan ka ba ng papel or pisara nung kabataan mo, but why the heck do you need to vandal on cave walls or trees? Aliens won't notice your existence there.

High tech na sila !

Besides hindi rin sila for sure interesado i-decode ang mga sinulat mong "Marileyn labs Jironimo". So hindi ko maintindihan kung saan nanggagaling ang inspiration mo para gawin iyon. If you feel like you're a banksy for doing such, lumayo ka sa akin baka mabigwasan kita.

Experiences in travelling have a long term effect on everyone, kaya naman sana, we all be an advocate for protecting places we borrowed from nature. Kasi baka dumating ang time, there's no more place to travel. :(

My MX4D Experience at Vista Cinemas Evia Lifestyle Center

4/12/2016 Japhet 1 Comments

Ok, Y'all know how 4D cinema works so I'm not going to the details. All I can say is that MX4D is a must try for anyone who wants thrill watching movies. Why? Because aside from the usual 3D glasses, moving chairs, and air blast, MX4D will make you feel the punches, the rocky roads, the tickling and even the scent of explosions like as if you're really there.

The only thing that is not precise for me with all 4D cinemas I've tried is the change of temperature. Like for example, you're seeing a hot dessert scene, but you're feeling cold because of the wind they're ejecting from the chairs.  That doesn't feel right.

I've watched Batman VS Superman twice. At first, I didn't really like it because of its lame plot, but after watching it in MX4D, I can say it's entertaining. It's worth the money you've paid for even if you don't like the story. LOL!

The Cinema 2 VIP Seats has 62 top of the line Luxus chairs.

You may visit the country's first MX4D Motion EFX Theater at Vista Cinemas - EVIA Lifestyle Center in Daang Hari Road. They have 4 (four) cinemas that feature Dolby atmos and Luxus chairs available only in select locations around the world.

The ticket for MX4D usually ranges from 400 to 500 Pesos.

Enjoy the movies!

What went wrong with our Hide & Seek Breakout PH experience

4/08/2016 Japhet 0 Comments

#JOTG

When I think of that room, I always think of my enemies head. I picture cracking their lovely skull, unspooling their brain. Trying to get answers.

What are you thinking? What have we done to each other? (Gone Girl)

I am feeling so melodramatic for reminiscing every corner of that effin escape room. I still cannot believe that we didn't succeed. I badly want redemption! I need to get back! I guess this is what every people feels after failing that game.

Breakout Philippines is so exciting and scary it may not allow your brains to work properly, or maybe it's just us? Oh no! We know what we are doing, it's that freaking padlock! Lol! The game goes like this, they'll lock you in for 45 minutes and you'll need to solve some puzzles to breakout. Sounds simple? Think again. They've added tons of surprises and elements that seems to be, I don't know, not friendly? Well, it adds to that remarkable experience.

"Hide and Seek" is the newest addition to Breakout Philippines escape rooms. Unlike other rooms where the main objective is to break out, the Hide and Seek will surely test your bravery by surviving its interactive horrifying treats. There are even claims of paranormal experience since Hide and Seek room is the same exact room Breakout Philippines shut down a year ago because of some unexplained sightings. Watch my video below:

You may play this one of a kind horror-themed room by Visiting their Paragon Building branch in Mandaluyong city.

MAXIMUM TEAM SIZE: 6 PLAYERS
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: 4 out of 5

Special Rates for Weekdays:
Price is only P300 per person

Normal Rates for Weekends:
Price is only P600 per person -- for 1-2 persons
